Thomas Carlson is the founder and driving force behind The Think Tank, an innovative community designed to bring entrepreneurs together in a collaborative, supportive environment. With The Think Tank, Thomas aims to create a space where entrepreneurs can overcome the isolation that often comes with the journey of building a business. Through interactive forums, guided innovation, and mentorship, The Think Tank empowers individuals to develop, test, and scale their ideas. Thomas is passionate about helping entrepreneurs build meaningful connections and navigate the ups and downs of entrepreneurship with resilience and creativity.
For nearly 22 years, Thomas was a serial entrepreneur, founding or co-founding six businesses in diverse industries like construction, graphic design, and water bottling. His extensive experience spans not only different industries but also different cultures, having lived for 10 years in the Middle East and traveled to over 50 countries. Thomas is fluent in Arabic and has operated in four other languages, which has deepened his cross-cultural understanding and enriched his global business perspective. His broad exposure to international markets and diverse experiences have equipped him to understand the challenges entrepreneurs face, both at home and abroad, shaping the development of The Think Tank.
Thomas’s academic background includes a BA from Cornell University in Mathematics, Psychology, and Religion, as well as an MDiv from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary. His professional journey has taken him from educator and guest lecturer to his recent work with ECatalyst, where he trained on the MIT method of entrepreneurship and helped build for-profit ecosystems. All of these experiences have fueled his passion for creating The Think Tank, where he can combine his love of entrepreneurship, education, and community-building to help others succeed.
