John is passionate about innovating root cause solutions for social problems and bringing justice and compassion to our community and our world. He has an extensive career as an entrepreneur in both the for-profit and non-profit sectors and founded several small businesses in Portland focused on providing accounting and technology services. In 2009 he and his wife Joni co-founded a non-profit in Portland dedicated to teaching entrepreneurship to adult populations with significant barriers to employment. John has also worked at the executive level of several faith-based, social service non-profits.
Because he is so convinced of the value of entrepreneurship, John will serve ECatalyst by building its board of directors and establishing its nonprofit functionality.
John has a Bachelor’s degree in Religious Education and a Master of Arts in Global Development and Justice from Multnomah University in Portland, OR. John, Joni, and 5 of their 13 grandchildren reside in Colorado Springs.
